Sony remote working, but receiver failing to respond

I recently moved with a Sony DAV-C450 home theatre system. After the move, the remote seemed to be dead. I took it into a store, where the remote worked fine on similar, newer Sony machines. Apparently, it's the 5-DVD receiver that is NOT receiving the remote's signals. No physical sign of damage on the unit from our move, and the box was not dropped. Has this machine somehow been 'reset' to different remote 'codes'? This IS the original remote for the system.
