error in 512mb ms card (C:13.01)

When I put the stick into my Sony DSC p100 and select SET UP, it shows the error message and an EXIT button, then I am able to bypass the error and bring up the Format selection, but when I choose Format OK it does nothing but bring me back to the error message.Pl tell how to decalre that error message .......... reply regards
