It a case of whether or not the display info menu was set to OFF "before" the video was shot, as if it wasn't then the display info will have been recorded on the actual tape and it cant then be removed. With these models you always have to make sure the display is set to OFF before taking any video, not really a good system as its easy to slip up and forget.
