Remote/disc changer troubles

I just found this disc changer at my work, I got it all hooked up, but I can't seem to get the remote to work(#KS-RF37). I press the power button and it won't turn on. I can hear the disc changer working, can eject the cartridge, but I have no display and nothing on the radio station. Have any suggestions?
