HomeIt was working fine but I let my friend barrow it and he said that he had dropped it and now it wont charge a battery but i works if its plugged into the wall directly. and i bought A self charger to charge the battery and got a new battery i got it fully charged and it still wouldn't turn on so unless I'm at a wall with a outlet and have it plugged in i cant use it is there a way i could fix this and if so how much would it cost? and would it be cheaper to just buy a brand new camera?

This problem is not uncommon although nothing to do with the device being dropped, however the battery connections (on camcorder as well as the battery) should be examined to make sure they haven't been pressed in slightly, another possible reason can be caused by the switch over contact on the power input socket having moved slightly and it not making when the power plug is out, with the power plug inserted try wiggling it about slightly, or pull it out and in rapidly a few times as sometimes that will make the spring contact jump in. If none of these things work then it requires the case to be removed to gain access to the rear of the socket. |
