HomeVCR showing Err when pushing the MENU button on remote I have a JVC HR A230 VCR, but a slightly different JVC VCR remote. When trying to setup the TV channels, the display on the VCR shows Err. Is there a way to start the channel setup other than on the remote?

There is no way of programming the channels without the correct control, as most control buttons will not perform the action listed on them when used with another model, and in the case you mention the button marked channel set could be trying to active "play" on your VCR (or something else) hence the error if there is no tape in it. |
