Unfortunately a special free repair offer on this manufacturing defect that had been running for the past 30 months or so expired at the end of Dec 2007.
However "if" you still have the original receipt I would advise you to contact JVC customer services of wherever you may be located, as through experience I am aware that although the offer has expired a number of people have still managed to get the repair carried out by JVC on a "goodwill" basis, the qualification being that all concerned were in possession of the original purchase receipt. (this a must!!!)
