lines on viewscreen, read manual and it said to turn down contrast but dont know how.

i have the JVC GR-DX25 and i am having a problem with the viewscreen, there is lines going across my screen and i cant get rid of them, it said in the manual that this is not a malfunction and i just have to turn down the contrast but i dont know how to do this and it does not say in the manual how to do this. i have been through everything in the menu and cant find out how to adjust the contrast. please please can you help me as i am going to florida on holiday and i plan to take it with me and thats on the 1st of may i fly out. any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you very much Brian McMaster.
