The only way you can use the D270 as a recorder is if the device you want to record from has a DV out connector, as the camcorders A/V connections are "out" only. You could of course just shoot whatever straight from the TV screen, but you may experience black bars appearing on the picture, so you could try altering the shutter setting to see if you could get an acceptable compromise, page 42 on your handbook giving details under "Program AE".
