Am constantly getting the "31:23" error code when, as far as I can tell, there is no fault with the camera [HDR FX1E] and nothing wrong with the tape (in today's case, the head cleaning tape that the camera has just told me to use!). Past experience suggests the only solution is to wind/rewind a whole tape by hand - ie with a paper clip to hold the cassette 'open' and a pencil with an eraser to move the tape. Neither a fast, efficient or very high-tech answer. Is there a better one? David
