A unit that has a lot of inputs for many devices, and when any device is connected to this unit -

I'm looking for a unit that has various audio/video inputs (rca, optical, hdmi maybe) and when any external inputs are connected into this unit, it will then output onto a display the corresponding input from that device. The problem i'm having with my HDTV is that I've got to pull it out each time i've got to connect any kind of device to it. So, a unit that has many inputs and is connected to my display will make it convenient to use a dvd player, camcorder, laptop, satellite receiver etc.
