Error Code #36

I know that this error code is "Pick Out Dector". I have the Service Manual for this unit. I was using this unit as the recorder as my other BR-S810U was the player. Everything worked just fine until I tried using the unit about an hour later. The tape does eject every time the tape is inserted. I have tried to power off the unit and leave off for some time. I can not find specific solutions in the Service Manual. Your help would be appreciaited.
