Problem with JVC video camera GR-D72U

I have a JVC digital camera GR-D72u. I am unable to record. It keeps telling me to take out battery which I do then it says its in safeguard mode. The tape doesn't come out. How do I take off of safeguard mode? Please help. I need to use video tomorrow. T. Doherty
