JVC G-D33AG lens cap on error

Hi. I have a JVC Mini DV Camera. Model No. GR-D33AG It seems I'm having a common problem referenced on this site with the screen saying that the lens cap is on when it's not, No video is on the screen or output. Can you please help me with a fix to this problem?
