Blue lines on people's faces - and it's not tattoos

I've been very pleased to "inherit" a JVC plasma TV from my dad (he bought an HD one) - it's great but we tend to get blue smears on the contours of peoples faces and bodies, tending to be when it's first switched on. We're watching TV though a sky+ box and all the connections are scart. I wondered if it sounds like anything obvious to resolve?? Thanks
