DSR-45 Power cycling while trying to load.

Hi My DSR45 has just developed a very frustrating problem. One minute it was working fine then the next it started bleeping and throwing up an error code which disappeared within a second or two (too quickly for me to make a note of it). Now whenever I try to load a tape the machine will accept the cassette but will not lace up the tape. It then power cycles constantly until I eject the cassette. The machine works fine without a cassette inserted. I have removed the cover from the machine and peered inside but there is nothing obviously wrong. Any ideas?
