Need part information for Sony DA80ES for message "protector". Must be repaired.

Apparently a common problem with this receiver from a short with one of the speakers, the "protector" message supposedly protects the internal components but everything I have tried does not correct the problem. Sony says it is internal. Does the amb board need to be replaced and does anyone have a part "?? I am afraid of bringing it to a service center and having them rip me off. It is not worth repairing if I am going to be charged $500. I have read in other places that the part should only cost about $125?? Does anyone have any info or advice?
