Repair or buy new?

I have a JVC MX-C5BK component system with CD automatic changer / double cassette deck. I have been told there is a damaged part in CD changer that is no longer available. Can someone suggest if there is yet a way to repair it? If not, is there a comparable system out there that can be purchased?
