Re: JVC service or questions

bruce redecopp Posted Jan 18, 2008, in response to:Stacy Sample

i need help, this has been driving my crazy for over a year now. i just saw this board has a MODERN HI-FI thread, so i thought i would ask for assistance. i have 2 receivers, both JVC. the 1st is a RX-7030VBK, the 2nd is a RX-7010VBK httX://support.jvc.com/consumer/prod...arc hive=true httX://support.jvc.com/consumer/prod...d=MODL0263 55 i am using ATHENA speakers. the 1st center channel speakers is an AUDION series AS-C1, the 2nd is a C.5 httX://www.athenaspeakers.com/modelASC1.htm httX://www.athenaspeakers.com/c5speaker.htm when i watch DVD's or play CD's on 5.1 or DTS my center channel speaker cuts in and out on dialog. i have tried new speaker wire, i have hooked up other speakers (front / rear speakers Athena AS-B1 & AS-B2) in the center channel position and it still happens, so i know it's not the speakers or the speaker wire. i am currently running it as surround, but just leave out the center channel speaker and setup the receiver so it is not even there, thus faking surround. a friend of mine who designs speakers said it is definitely not the speakers and most likely bad wiring in the receiver, does this sound right? what can it be? anyone? please i don't want to get rid of 2 decent receivers that still work fine except for this problem. i'm not the one with the problem, other have had the same thing with the RX-8030VBK, which is listed on my instruction manual, so it's the same rec'r with a few extras: httX://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/1/198390.html any ideas?
