Panasonic SA-HT700 having display inssues

The display lights on my Panasonic SA-HT700 seem to have a mind of its own. It lights up once in a while and will stay on, but most of them time there are no lights and I'm pretty much guessing if I'm doing the right thing. All the other lights seem to be working fine (i.e. power, cd number etc). It's just the main box. Any thoughts?? Thanks in advance.
