I got a big problem.

I have this sony mp4 player and i have a 1 gb card. The thing is even if i change a video file into .amv or any other extension it does not work or open, instead it shows an error. Can anyone help me with this. Do i need any other supporting files to run a converted video file in my MP4. Please someone hook me up.
