The JVC DVD player has worked for three years flawlessly, recently experiencing shut-down consistently every time DVD is loaded and Reading begins.

What might be the most suspect part or procedure when, after placing any DVD, new or old, into tray, upon the immediate display of READING, the power shuts off. After approx 2-3 minutes the unit is capable of being turned on again to remove the disc. The unit is kept immaculately clean and no prior warnings were evident before experiencing this problem.
