What is the fix behind the loco that works. It worked the first time for me as well! Amazing!

Can anyone tell me why this fix works. Not looking a gifted horse in the mouth but I'm just so curious. Will there also come a time when this fix will not work as well. I'm just trying to make an informed decision about weather or not to start looking to buy another camera but I hate to do that as I really like this one. Thanks in advance. Ps its great to see how many people are willing to help out there. especially these days. Cheers to everybody!! I just popped open a cold one! Thanks again for saving me money!
