You have to use Windows Movie Maker that comes with XP. Go to menu on the camera and turn the USB settings to WEB CAM.

Once detected in windows movie maker and you can see your cam live, roll the knob to play and click play on the camera as you click start capture on the windows movie maker. BAM your transferring your video.FINALLY! and movie maker allows for very cool effects and easy edits so you can burn to dvd.
