my sony trinitron tv sometimes comes on and shows lines only from left to right then the whole picture just dissapears and comes on sometimes when i smack the tv..

my sony trinitron kv 35v36 36'' tv sometimes comes on and sometimes just shows some blinking colored lines going from the left of the screen to the right and then when i smack it the picture opens up and then about 20 minutes later the whole screen goes black and displays no pic for a very long time until i turn it off and on about a couple dozen times... i have played with the g2 picture screw knob like said in other post but no pic still..? can someone please help. the tv is only 9 years old and i cant afford a new one or to even have this took to a repair shop.. is my picture tube shot completley.?
