Nutone IMA 4406 Intercom has is possessed

No matter how many time I reset the time and turn off the timer button,the light comes back on sometime later in the day. When the light is on the unit can not be switched from am to fm or radio to CD. What is up with this?...I have reset the unit ,reset the time,ad nauseum.....please....how do you disable this timer feature?
