Buzzing Sony Mavica

I have the same problem with my SONY MVC-CD300. A buzzing noise when you first turn it on and then sometimes a "disc error" or a "Turn off and back on" message. I've had the camera for 6 years and it has worked flawlessly until about 4 months ago. What is causing this and is it worth getting it repaired? Thanks, George
