Re: JVC AV-27s33 brightness problem

Jon Posted Dec 01, 2007, in response to:Darrell Oxford

For anyone who's still interested in correcting this now, or in the future here's an easy solution: 1.) Make sure the sliders at the top of your remote are set to "TV" & "VCR" (you may not be able to access service settings otherwise). 2.) Press "Sleep Timer" button & while the menu is still on screen press "Display" and "Video Status" buttons simultaneously (you may have to try more than once to get it). 3.) Now on service menu select item 1.V/C(S) & press VOL+ key. 4.) Press CH- key to scroll down to item "S06 BRIGHT+-". 5.) Press VOL+ key to increase brightness & VOL- to decrease. I'd recommend setting this to the minimum value that you can live with to avoid undue wear to the TV. Now press the "Exit" key on your remote twice to get out of service mode. Enjoy your increased brightness! Please Note: the brightness (and several other) settings vary per input & are only valid for the input currently selected. For reference here are the defaults found on my AV-27S33 TV. Video-1: +_000 (Rear S-Video) Video-2: +003 (Rear Component) Video-3: +_000 (Front Composite) (Tuner "RF" brightness is adjustable through S01 Default=063)
