Screen wont turn on.

I have a JVC GR-D250U and my LCD screen wont turn on. It only turns on when i flip it. When the screen it facing the lens. Dont know what might be wrong w/ it. I seen that on the side of the screen there is a little chip and on the other there is a magnet. when the little chip is close to the magnet the screen turns on but when i flip the LCD how it needs to be it turn off video camera is still on and running but now picture. Well email me back if you might know what wrong with it.
