how to use my new jvc camcorder GZ-MG130US

I just bought a new camcorderGZ-MG130US. I have the following quesitons. (1) The new camcorder includes a CD software to manupulate and make dvd from the video I made in camcarder. I noticed that this "digital photograph navigator" software package in CD has a windows media player rev.9 in it. But my pc already has windows media player rev.10 in it. I don't want to lose my windows media player rev.10 and go back to windows media player rev.9 if I install the CD software But I have to install the CD software package in order to watch, edit, or make DVD from my camcorder Please tell me how can I keep my windows media player rev.10 in pc when I instal the camcorder package software. (2) If I shoot a video of one hour and 30 minutes long, but then I decide I just want to delete some contents and make the video length only 30 minutes long, how can I edit it (or delete the unwanted contents).
