Why does my car cd player have auto resume but none of my home players have it?

When I turn on my car cd player (a Ford factory model) it resumes playing were it was when I turned off the ignition. I like this feature, but don't seem to be able to find a home system that has a similar auto resume feature. Why is this so? Do manufacturers feel that there is no demand for this in the home?
