Need to recover lost data due to this error on the DVD camcorder.

I have a Sony DVD Handycam camera. Today I was finalizing my disc and the error came before finishing. I am loosing all the information on the disc (I just want to cry) because of all the things I video taped on it. Can anybody tell my how to solve this problem AND recover the DVD data I lost? Please HELP!!!
