Need advice on whether to trash it

My Sony Mavica CD300 takes great pictures when it works. Unfortunately, I already sent it to Sony for repairs when I got the Error 13:?? whatever it was. It cost me almost HALF of what I paid for the camera, so I'm not interested in send it again. Now, the camera is "stuck" in setup mode, no matter where I turn the mode knob. I read someplace that you can "unstick" it by pushing the buttons in some secret sequence. Can you help me?
