I've had mine since March 1995 and it still works like a champ. In fact, it seems the color is sharper, maybe that is because of higher definition boadcast technology even though this TV is not hi-def capable. I do know that it is getting older and any day now I will experience the sudden loss of no power like explained above. I also know that my next TV will definatley be a SONY. Mike
