GRD72 error code E01

My GR-D72 digital video camera has an error E01 (remove and reattach the battery) unit in safeguard mode. Nothing I do helps fix the problem. I really don't have $150+ to get it serviced and I would like to be able to record my little boy. Can anyone help? Thank You.
