I experienced the same issue. My player used to record with the DVD-RW and then it just stopped one day with this error code. I had a similiar experience with an XBOX not playing some games before and I had purchased a Memorex DVD cleaning disc to try to resolved the issue. It worked on the XBOX and it also cleared this issue on the Sylvania DVD recorder. I highly recommend it. I think I got the disc for under $10 on Amazon.
