intercom system problem

Chris Perry Posted Oct 01, 2007

We have a 1980's Nutone system that has begun chiming randomly. When the volume is off, it clicks for no apparent reason. Any ideas why and what to do?

Chris, When you hear clicking noises most of the time it means a bad room station. The odds are its a patio station. And the chime ringing could be the bell button. To immediatley make this stop would be to disconnect the button from the master and disconnect the bad station from the master. Because the system is connected to high voltage it would be best to contact a local dealer that installs intercom or service intercoms. If you have further questions you can contact me at 877-435-0670 or e-mail www.intrasonictechnology.com.
