I have an error message C:31:00

The error sounds and blinks in the lcd with the error code C:31:00. The door wont open on it's own nor will it go down. At first the 8mm tape was stuck, so I opened it and removed the cassette. The motor doesn't seem to be working because the door wont go down on it's own when I put in a tape. Can you help?
