Anyone have any experience of their cybershot jamming in open status so that the computer is confused about whether the lense open or not?

this is my second CyberShot and, like the first, after two years' of fairly regular usage, particularly in using the zoom feature, it has jammed with the lense in the open position. I took out a five year warranty with this one, although I bought it in England and am now back in Australia, so having some issues getting a quote and arranging the repairs. I would much prefer a replacement cost repayment. In any case, can anyone tell me if they've had a cybershot repaired with this problem and was it successful for any length of time?
