Your model has the potential to develop the lens cap problem, which by the way if it is requires immediate action, as there is not much time left to obtain the free repair!, however to exclude the lens cap problem if when the camcorder is in camera mode ready to shoot some video and the image of what the lens is pointing at can clearly be seen, then its inclined to indicate that the video heads just require cleaning.
