Stacey, I own a GR-DF550 and it has the classic JVC "Lens Cap" message on startup after which it goes into "Safeguard Mode" with an error 01 below. I have tried taking out my battery for 30 minutes and replacing it to no avail. My tape won't eject, and this is now a doorstop. Suggestions are welcome. -- Jahan
