HELP!! Problem with a black rectangular box appearing on some channels.

Comcast says the problem is with the TV, but the tech really wasn't so sure. He adjusted TV settings, but the problem is still there. The box goes away with a manual volume adjustment, but still recurs on certain channels. Thanks for any help.
