Convergence problem

My sony is 4.75 years old and 8 months out of the extended warranty, The picture is good in the middle of the screen but the convergence gets bad all around the edges. This occurred out of the blue,it did not happen gradually. I went online for info on this problem and changed out the stk's as suggested (90% this would be the problem) but it did not work, any suggestions?
