power goes on.no picture and buzzing sound from t.v.

i have a jvc t.v. about 5 years old. was working perfectly then one day screen just went out and there was a buzzing sound coming out of set.power goes on but nothing else.unsure of model #. wondering if anyone has had same problem and if it is worth fixing.thanx
