Which allowed the small tapes to engage to the play and record heads. I was able to put the worm gear back in place and re-install the tape carriage and it began to work again. Glad you got it fixed, Tiger. However, that's a temporary fix and it will happen again. That plastic assembly must be replaced as it's worn beyond spec and will allow the shaft to slip out again real soon. Not a difficult repair but one requiring a tech with experience. Mike |
