The model number is printed on a name plate underneath the camcorder, however the E-03 error code is an indication that the cassette take up spindle is not turning properly, and in many cases its the cassette itself that is faulty. Try another tape, and preferably NOT a TDK or Maxell brand as they are known to cause problems in JVC camcorders.
