error code 01 and 02, stops during playback and tape eject

Originally could not video tape, used digital stills and it unlocked it, now only still image works completely. Hung during tape ejection, was able to get ejected after many attempts and going to digital stills. Now tape ejected only a fraction and is hung - cannot close cover however. During brief time it worked again, it played back and taped, then stopped with error 01. Too old to get repaired by JVC. Any suggestions how to get 30 cassette tape downloaded to PC or to disc.
