Re: SONY C:13:01 ERROR

Rich Walker Posted Sep 03, 2007, in response to:anonymous

I have a dsc717 from 2002. It went all around the world and was great until Madrid 2004. Since then I have had this dreadful problem. I have tried Pc formatting the cards and quick format. The camera works fine indoors. However when i go out, this is not the case. Doesn't matter which of my five cards i use or if the weather is cold or hot outside, it fails to work. As soon as i am indoors the error disappears. I have checked the PINS and they are fine. Hence i believe it is a humidity/temperature problem(funnily enough i smoke 60 a day and this doesn't affect this piece of electronics) It is a shame that SONY have never acknowlegded this problem and it reoccurs with all newer models. Otherwise i would have recommended that their cameras are probably the best between amateur and pro. However their Vaios are the most overpriced crap which will not last longer than 12 months. I own 2 dead ones - never again. DO NOT BUY SONY
