Sony EditStation ES-7 - what can it do?

I have just been given a second-hand Sony EditStation ES-7 - still in very good condition. I want to know what can it do these days? I'm told it's still very powerful, despite the dated technology - does anyone have any idea if this is true? We'd be looking to edit both MiniDV and HDV footage from Sony cameras, but can get by with just DV for now. Our previous editing experience is all PC-based - Edius. Cheers!
