Red Lamp is out

Help with replacing bulb/lamp AV-48WP30

I've opened the case and the red light is out. I started taking the assembly apart, but couldn't tell the easiest (any) way to remove the bulb/lamp. I've taked off the top piece (magnifier I belive, round adjustable piece with adjustable focus?). Underneather I've removed the screws that atteched the top end (wide end) to the TV frame. But there are still a mess of wires/connections at the other end. And not enough play to pull it through. Before I do harm, wanted advice. Perhaps the bulb is really a much larger "assembly". Also, when trying to remove the fixture/bulb, I removed a screw that began spilling a clear fluid, some type of clear oil. I quickly put the screw back, but did spill a bit of the stuff. Could you tell me what I should replace with? Thanks in advance. Sorry not very detailed, but I can post pictures and more details if needed.
